Preparation
Remove chains, earrings and hair clips.
Two Views
One image facing the plate (AP) and one standing sideways (lateral). Your shoulders may be gently lowered to show the lower neck bones.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does AP and Lat mean?
AP is the front view and Lat is the side view. Together they show the neck bones from two directions.
Can an X-ray show a slip disc?
Not directly. X-ray shows narrowed disc spaces and spurs. The disc itself and pressed nerves are seen on MRI.
Is preparation needed?
No. You can eat normally. It takes about 5 minutes and is available 24 hours.
