The Procedure
Registration
Show the prescription and any previous ultrasound or X-ray reports.
Change
Remove belts, keys, coins and clothes with metal over the tummy.
X-Ray
You lie on your back and hold your breath for a moment while the image is taken.
Report
Our radiologist reports any stones, their size and position.
How to Prepare
Gas and stool in the bowel can hide small stones, so a little preparation gives a clearer picture.

- Take a mild laxative the night before if your doctor or our staff advise it
- Come with an empty stomach if advised at booking
- Bring the prescription and previous reports
- Tell us if you are or may be pregnant
❌ Avoid
- Heavy, gas-forming food the evening before
